Up From Zionism! Reserve

Privacy

This site exists to tell people when Up From Zionism! is available. Here is everything it does with your details.

Who is responsible

Mordechai Sones, the author. Write to books@jewishhome.news about anything on this page.

What is collected

Only what you type into the reservation form: your name, your email address, the edition and number of copies you want, and, if you choose to give them, your country and a note. The time you reserved is recorded with it.

The site sets no cookies and uses no outside analytics or advertising trackers. It keeps its own simple visit counts: how many people looked at each page each day, and which site sent them (for example, substack.com). To count people rather than page loads, the server mixes your internet address and browser type with a random value that is replaced every day, and keeps the result in memory for that day only. Only the totals are saved, so no visit can be traced back to anyone.

To stop automated sign-ups, the server also keeps a count of recent reservations from each internet address in memory for up to an hour. Neither of these is ever written down or stored. Like any web host, Railway keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the site, used only to keep it running.

The site’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, as it does on many websites.

What it is used for

To send you a confirmation now and one email when the book is available, with the formats, prices and where to order. It is not used for anything else, not added to any other mailing list, and never sold or given to anyone.

Who can see it

Only the author. The list is stored with Railway, which hosts this site, and the emails are sent through Resend. Both are services in the United States that handle the data only to run the site, not for their own purposes.

How long it is kept

Until the launch email has gone out, and no longer than twelve months after the book’s release. After that the list is deleted.

Your choices

Every confirmation email has a link to cancel your reservation. To see, correct or delete what is held about you, write to books@jewishhome.news and it will be done.
